A Course Like No Other (2012 Course)

Almost 80% of the Wasatch Back Marathon course is on dirt roads or trails. It starts and finishes at the picturesque Midway Town Square where there is shade, grass, free parking, and great shops and eateries. The first three miles take your through Midway neighborhoods and past the Wasatch State Park Visitors Center. That's where the course jumps on the Visitors Center Loop trail, a great single track trail that climbs to a your first scenic valley overlook. You'll be directly above Lime Canyon with a great view of the Heber Valley. From there you'll have a slight descent into Lime Canyon and then up the trail for a significant climb to Cummings Parkway. Once on the top you'll be at the high point of the course, with unbelievable views of the Wasatch Back on your right and Heber Valley on your left.

The course heads south and is generally downhill all the way to the Provo/Jordan River Parkway about 1 mile east of the Deer Creek Dam. Once on this excellent and picturesque trail, you'll skirt the edge of Deer Creek Reservoir on a rolling course towards Midway. At the trail head you'll get on the pavement on Stringtown Road and head north into Midway Town Square and the finish.

We look forward to getting to know you all better and sharing this awesome experience.
